A plaque-unveiling ceremony was held on Feb 26 for Nanning Customs' new Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) research office.
Countries participating in RCEP include the 10 member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. The 15 participating countries have a total population of 2.2 billion, accounting for around 30 percent of the world's total.
The new office will carry out research into areas such as the tax reduction policies of member countries in order to put forward industrial layout plans and make overseas investment suggestions.
It will help domestic industries expand into overseas markets and foster the new dual circulation development paradigm, which has domestic circulation as its main driver, with domestic and international circulations reinforcing each other.
Influences brought by RCEP to domestic industries in areas such as quality improvement and cost reduction will also be researched together with the possible impact of relevant industries and markets.
The research office will use various communication channels to guide companies in learning about RCEP.
