The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University issued an English version of its epidemic prevention and treatment manual for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pneumonia on March 31 to help the global battle against the virus.

Based on multiple editions of the prevention, control, diagnosis, and treatment guidelines of the National Health Commission, the manual summarizes the prevention, control, and treatment experience explored by a team of multi-disciplinary experts through two months of battle against the COVID-19 epidemic.

It includes five chapters on hospital prevention and control management, clinical treatment, nursing plan, clinical diagnosis, as well as hospital infection prevention and control, which introduce details of the hospital's prevention and control methods, as well as their optimization experience.

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the hospital has sent three batches of medical teams to support Wuhan in the treatment of patients with the novel coronavirus and many experts of the hospital guided the treatment of critically ill patients in Guangxi, accumulating rich experience in the fight against the virus.

The hospital was selected by the State Council in March 2020 as a designated hospital for the international cooperative network of remote consultation for COVID-19 treatment.

In the future, the hospital will carry out international remote consultation of the epidemic with foreign medical institutions, share China's prevention and treatment experiences and technology, as well as provide assistance and technical support to places seriously affected by the epidemic, especially ASEAN countries.
