Zhanjiang in South China's Guangdong province opened a train route to Rong'an county in Liuzhou, South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on March 12, to meet the spring travel needs of people along the route.

The T8728 passenger express train departs from Zhanjiang at 12:50 pm and arrives at Rong'an at 9:23 pm. It has 12 stops, including Suixi and Lianjiang in Zhanjiang as well as Yulin and Liuzhou in Guangxi. The whole journey is about 24 minutes quicker than other trains.

For more details about the service, travelers can refer to the online railway ticket-booking platform 12306 or call the railway customer service hotline 12306.

Since Jan 1, 2021, the ticketing service hours of the online railway ticket-booking platform have been extended, and tickets can now be purchased from 5 am to 11:30 pm every day.

Online ticket refund services can be accessed 24 hours a day, while the deadline for ticket refunds has been adjusted from 25 minutes before the train departure to the time of the train departure.

Zhanjiang has been working with Rong'an and Rongshui counties in Liuzhou since 2017 to help them build new infrastructure, promote local development and advance poverty alleviation. The two sides have also been strengthening their cooperation in tourism in recent years.
