Zhanjiang will build a radial high-speed railway network this year connecting Zhanjiang with Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomeration and Hainan Free Trade Zone by constructing Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-speed Railway, Hepu-Zhanjiang High-speed Railway and Zhanjiang-Haikou High-speed Railway. It will also speed up the preliminary work of Zhangjiajie-Haikou High-speed Railway. 

Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-speed Railway

Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-speed Railway is a coastal high-speed new channel planned and constructed by Guangdong province. It is also an important part of the coastal high-speed new channel connecting the Yangtze River Delta, Hainan province, the Greater Bay Area, Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomeration and ASEAN trade zones.

The total length is 412 kilometers, the investment is estimated to be 84 billion yuan ($12.2 billion), and the speed plans to be 350 kilometers per hour. The planned railway departs from Guangzhou, passing through Foshan, Zhaoqing, Yunfu, Yangjiang and Maoming, and ends at Zhanjiang West Station.

Hepu-Zhanjiang High-speed Railway

The line starts from Hepu Station in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, passing through Tieshan Port, Baisha, Shankou, Qingping, Lianjiang, Tunxi, and finally to Zhanjiang West Station, with a total length of 191 kilometers. The line has a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour and a total investment of about 18 billion yuan.

Zhanjiang-Haikou High-speed Railway

The railway is not only a channel across the sea, but also an important bridge connecting the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. The Zhanjiang-Haikou High-speed Railway includes collinear segments of Baotou-Haikou High-speed Railway and Zhangjiajie-Haikou Tourist High-speed Railway.

It starts at Zhanjiang West Station and travels along the east side of the Guangdong-Haizhou Railway, eventually arrives at Hai'an Station. With a total length of 130 kilometers, it is designed at a speed of 250 kilometers per hour and has an estimated total investment is 14.4 billion yuan.
