The Guangzhou Nansha "Multi-in-one" Micro Grid Demonstration project was put into operation in Nansha district on Aug 17. It is the first China-Finland energy cooperation demonstration project to be put into operation.

China Southern Power Grid's Guangzhou power supply bureau has reached cooperation with three Finnish energy companies, Convion, Savosolar, and Heliostorage. The companies have provided the project with high-tech industry expertise and scalable hardware facilities to build a distributed, flexible, as well as clean energy system. Compared with traditional centralized energy supply systems, the project's energy production will be more stable and safe.

The project uses bedrock energy storage technology and a solar heating system to improve energy efficiency by enabling clean energy production and seasonal thermal energy storage.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is at the forefront of China's reform and opening-up, serving as an important engine for promoting the country's green development. The launch of the project marks an important step for China to build a modern energy system.

At the same time, with the development of this demonstration project, more cooperation projects will be launched in the future, which will help to build a clean and efficient energy consumption system, as well as further accelerate the pace of China's green economy transformation.

Marko Tiesmaki, head of Business Finland's Greater China region, said in his speech, "The success of this project is a milestone in the bilateral energy cooperation between China and Finland, which fully demonstrated the sincere friendship and win-win spirit between the two countries."

Tiesmaki also said, "Business Finland aims to promote trade cooperation between China and Finland, and energy is one of the key areas of cooperation between the two parties. The three Finnish companies participating in this project are outstanding representatives of Finland in the field of green and smart energy technologies. We look forward to finding more bilateral cooperation opportunities with our Chinese partners to make the future energy supply more climate-friendly and create a better life for more people."
