Dongguan moves to contain latest outbreak
Dongguan, Guangdong province, upgraded its COVID-19 epidemic control measures on Tuesday, putting all communities under closed management.
Residents are required to stay in their communities except for participating in epidemic control work and organized nucleic acid testing, or when dumping garbage, seeking medical treatment, buying medicine or buying daily necessities.
Enterprises located in areas with local outbreaks have been ordered to suspend operations, excluding those engaged in public service and supplying goods to Hong Kong.
All shops are required to suspend operations, apart from supermarkets selling daily necessities, agricultural produce markets, medical institutions, drug stores and restaurants. Restaurants must shift to take-out service only.
Workers at organizations in office buildings should work from home, according the announcement of the city's epidemic control authorities issued on Tuesday.
Multiple rounds of nucleic acid testing will be carried out in the cit starting on Tuesday.
Authorities have pledged that sufficient supplies of daily necessities will be available to residents.
Dongguan reported nine local confirmed COVID-19 cases and 46 asymptomatic carriers on Monday.
