'Replacing training with work' subsidy information released
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security launched the "replacing training with work" subsidy for enterprises that have encountered operational difficulties due to the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The "replacing training with work" subsidy refers to the training subsidy applied for by enterprises that have employed key groups like college graduates and rural migrant workers, helping them adapt to the posts by replacing training with work.
The subsidy standard in Guangdong province is 500 yuan ($74.80) per person per month, with a maximum of six months.
The subsidy is valid for one year starting from January 2020.
By Oct 15, there have been 149 enterprises and over 79,000 people in Guangdong that have passed the approval for the "replacing training with work" subsidy, with a total amount of nearly 139 million yuan.
Enterprises that qualify for the subsidy
1. Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises that are registered in Guangdong and have employed people with difficulties in finding jobs;
2. Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises that are registered in Guangdong and have temporary operational difficulties and are out of service due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic;
*Enterprises whose monthly added-value tax index has dropped by 70 percent or more than that of the same period in 2019 can be identified as shut-down enterprises.
3. Large enterprises in the fields of foreign trade, accommodation and catering, cultural tourism, transportation, as well as wholesale and retail that have been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
