On the night of July 1, Foshan New City Century Lotus Sports Center and the Fang Tower, two landmarks in Foshan, debuted their brand-new nighttime look, projecting transfixing patterns of light and color.

This is one of the city's efforts to boost its night-time economy.

The light show project, located at the Shunde area of the Sanlongwan Innovation Cluster, will be completed in two phases. The first phase, the lighting upgrade of Foshan New City Century Lotus Sports Center and the Fang Tower, has been completed.

The next phase will focus on the upgrading of the riverside landscape belt of Foshan New City.

High-efficiency and energy-saving electric light sources and control equipment have been adopted by the project to beautify the city while protecting environment.

In addition, a cruise project on the Tanzhou Waterway, the first nighttime water sightseeing tourism project in Foshan, underwent its successful trial last month. It is expected to be officially launched in October during the National Day holiday.
