Guangzhou, Paris to carry out cultural, art communication
A cultural communication event between Guangzhou and Paris will take place at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France on Jan 19, showcasing the achievements that the two cities have made in areas spanning culture, arts, and business.
Dazzling light shows and drone performances will be staged at Canton Tower in Guangzhou at the same time of the event, which is being held for the third time.
A 4k ultra HD large-scale documentary on human history The Amphitrite will make its debut during the event for a preview screening, with the documentary being officially released later this year.
The Amphitrite tells the story of the first ship named The Amphitrite arriving in Guangzhou for trade from France about 300 years ago, reflecting the history of communications in economy, culture, and arts between the East and the West during the 17th and 18th centuries.
Other series events will be also be held during the event, such as painters from China and France jointly painting kapoks and irises, the city flowers of Guangzhou and Paris.
From Jan 17 to 20, a picture exhibition themed on Guangzhou and China’s efforts in building a well-off society and reducing poverty is also being held in Paris.
