Guangzhou releases activity schedule for Spring Festival

The Guangzhou bureau of culture, radio and television announced that a series of activities for this year's Spring Festival in Guangzhou will take place from Jan 21 to Feb 8.
A total of 20 internationally well-known families in the cultural tourism industry from 20 overseas major tourist source cities, including New York, Sydney, Vancouver, Tokyo, and Singapore, will be invited to visit Guangzhou during the holiday to get a close look at the folk culture of the Spring Festival and the Lantern Festival.
During their visit, they will visit an array of Guangzhou landmarks, such as the Pearl River, Canton Tower, Huacheng Square, and Nansha Wetland Park. They will also be able to taste traditional delicacies in the area.
From Dec 19, 2019 to Jan 17, 2020, a total of 69 performances by outstanding arts groups from both home and abroad, including those from Austria, Italy, Russia, the United States, Germany, and Japan, will be staged at four main theaters in Guangzhou, meeting the diverse needs of local residents.
Seven Guangzhou-based art groups, including the Guangzhou Drama Art Center and the Guangzhou Acrobatic Art Theater, plan to bring 28 performances spanning drama, puppet shows, ballet, and Cantonese opera with the goal of benefiting the public.
