A book fair will kick off in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province on July 19, and will last until July 22.
Themed "Reading and Cheering for the Motherland," the Shenzhen Book Fair is the first in the city's history aimed at the national book industry.

With its main venue set at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, the fair will also have five branch venues in the city's Luohu, Futian, Nanshan, Bao'an, and Longgang districts.
About one million books will be exhibited and sold by 300 booksellers from across the country at the main venue, which covers an area of near 30,000 square meters. Most of the books will be sold at a 20 to 40 percent discount, while some will have a limited-time discount of 60 to 70 percent.
In addition, about 100 reading and cultural activities will be organized during the book fair, such as interactive talks by Chinese actor Liu Xiaolingtong, known in China for his portrayal of the Monkey King in the TV series Journey to the West, as well as Chinese actor-singer Dai Jun.
The main venue will be open to the public from 9 am to 5:30 pm during the book fair, and the closing time on Saturday, July 20, will be extended to 8:30 pm.
Admission tickets are needed to enter the main venue, which cost 10 yuan ($1.45) each. Attendees can get a ticket at the ticket windows of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center or through the book fair's official WeChat account: shenzhenshuzhan.
