A dozen Guangzhou cyclists demonstrated what it is like to ride bicycles in laid-back reclining positions on Sunday.
They rode 30 kilometers from Guangzhou's Tianhe Stadium to Ersha Island, a riverside area in Yuexiu district, attracting a lot attention from locals.
Team captain said most of the bicycles had been retro-fitted by themselves. He said riding in the reclining position is better at reducing air drag and avoids backache or neck pain that may be caused by the common upright bicycles.
The team also included cyclists on prone bicycles with their bodies facing the ground.
