Chen Fahu
Chen Fahu is a full professor and president of the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, distinguished professor of Lanzhou University, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, academician of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and chairman of the Geographical Society of China. Chen has a doctorate of Physical Geography. From 1999 to 2004, he served as the dean of the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University. From 2005 to 2016, he served as the director of the Key Laboratory of Western China's Environmental Systems, Ministry of Education, China. From 2007 to 2018, he served as the vice president and deputy director of the academic committee of Lanzhou University. He has published more than 530 papers (over 300 SCI papers) in domestic and international academic journals such as Nature, Science, NCC, NC, PNAS, ESR, SR, QSR, and Science China, with a total citation of over 21,000 and being cited by SCI papers for over 12,000 times, with an H-index of 53. He has long been engaged in research on the interaction between late Quaternary climate and environmental changes, prehistoric civilization evolution, and climate and environmental changes. He has achieved innovative research results in loess research, climate change, environmental change, environmental archaeology, and prehistoric civilization evolution.
