Han Tao

Han Tao is an esteemed professor at the University of Pittsburgh and the founder and director of the Pittsburgh Particle Physics, Astrophysics, and Cosmology Center (PITT PACC). His research focuses on the search for new physics at colliders, phenomenological descriptions of theoretical models, and the study of neutrino mass generation mechanisms. He has made significant contributions to the search for direct and indirect evidence of dark matter through collider signals, shaping the future research directions of collider experiments.

Han has been elected as a fellow of the American Physical Society (APS) in 2003 and a frontier fellow of the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in 2004. He is also a member of the Aspen Center for Physics and the Theoretical and Experimental Research Collaboration in Quantum Chromodynamics (CTEQ). From 2013 to 2015, he served as a member of the High Energy Physics Advisory Panel (HEPAP), and since 2021, he has been an Ex-officio member. He chaired the American Physical Society April Meeting in 2020 and was elected as the chair of the APS Division of Particles and Fields in 2021. In addition, he serves as a member of the steering committee for the Snowmass conference since 2021.
