Gao Yuanning
Gao Yuanning is a renowned physicist and academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is currently the dean of the School of Physics at Peking University, as well as the director of the State Key Laboratory of Nuclear Physics and Technology. Gao has made significant contributions to high-energy physics research, particularly in the field of hadron spectroscopy and heavy quarkonium production. He led the Chinese group of the Large Hadron Collider beauty experiment (LHCb) at CERN, where he achieved breakthrough discoveries such as the observation of pentaquark particles and doubly charmed baryons. Gao has received prestigious awards including the Wang Ganchang Physics Award and the Tan Kah Kee Science Award.
Currently, Gao serves as the director of the Physics Education Committee and the vice-director of the High Energy Physics Division of the Chinese Physical Society. He is also the president of the Beijing Physical Society.
