The 2024 World Ranking Event in Dinghai, Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, combined with the Zhoushan International City Orienteering Competition, took place in the Dinghai Ancient City on Dec 29.

Dinghai district has been committed to combining sports with tourism. By bringing the sport of orienteering to urban environments, Dinghai continues to encourage more people to participate in the sport and show the world its ancient city charm, island landscapes, and urban development achievements.

The 2024 World Ranking Event began on Dec 28 in Ma'ao village. Over two days, orienteers from China, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Norway, Sweden, and Ukraine gathered in Dinghai.

Competitors navigate using maps to complete checkpoints in a specified order. They must choose the best route for themselves and reach the finish line in the shortest time possible. The complex and varied terrain makes the competition thrilling.

The Zhoushan International City Orienteering Competition started on Dec 29 and was open to the public. This competition combined outdoor activities, team competition, fitness, and leisure, and attracted outdoor enthusiasts aged 6 to 60.
