Updated : 2024-12-19 (chinadaily.com.cn)

Zhoushan Customs has issued a certificate of origin under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement for a batch of fresh branches and leaves of Eurya japonica plants and black pine, according to local media on Dec 16.

This batch of cargo is valued at 1.11 million yuan ($152,084) from Zhoushan Green Boat Agriculture Co, which specializes in flowers and trees. With the RCEP certificate of origin, the 3 percent import tariff on this shipment will be waived upon arrival in Japan.

From January to November this year, Zhoushan Customs issued 862 RCEP certificates of origin, a 7.2 percent increase year-on-year, covering goods valued at 1.49 billion yuan, a 36.3 percent increase year-on-year.

Thanks to the tariff reductions under RCEP, the company can offer its export products at more competitive prices in overseas markets, and it has already applied for over 100 RCEP certificates of origin, saving more than 450,000 yuan in tariffs, according to the head of Zhoushan Green Boat Agriculture Co.

RCEP, the world's largest free trade agreement in terms of both population and economic scale, was officially implemented on Jan 1, 2022. Over the past three years, Zhoushan's enterprises have leveraged policy benefits to enhance their export competitiveness and expand their overseas markets.
