As the 2024 "Focus on Zhejiang" international cultural exchange activity concluded on Dec 12, Putuo Mountain Cultural Zen Garden was selected as the first in Zhoushan to be part of the fifth batch of Zhejiang Province International Humanistic Exchange Bases.

Spanning 41.95 square kilometers, the Putuo Mountain Cultural Zen Garden includes both the Putuo Mountain scenic area and the Zhujiajian scenic area, with rich cultural and tourism offerings.

Putuo Mountain is a national key scenic spot and a 5A-rated tourist attraction and one of China's four sacred Buddhist mountains. Its mystical landscapes and profound Buddhist culture make it a renowned destination worldwide.

Zhujiajian, also a national key scenic spot, is celebrated for its breathtaking scenery and high-end tourism projects, complete with dining, accommodation, transportation, entertainment, and shopping facilities.

Together, Putuo Mountain and Zhujiajian serve as a focal point for Chinese Buddhist and marine cultures, attracting numerous visitors annually and enjoying high international and domestic recognition.

Over the years, the two regions have hosted major events such as the Nanhai Guanyin Cultural Festival, the International Islands Tourism Conference, and the Zhoushan International Sand Sculpture Festival, as well as various international sports events, significantly promoting cultural and economic exchanges between Zhoushan and the world.
