On Mayi Island in Putuo district, Zhoushan, the shrimp common prosperity workshop has backed local shrimp production to improve it and drive sales, local media reported on Oct 31.

Putuo district has established a total of 84 common prosperity workshops. These include various models such as incoming material processing, targeted recruitment, industrial empowerment, agricultural-tourism integration, e-commerce livestreaming, and brand promotion.

These workshops have created employment for over 3,900 people, and monthly incomes have increased by more than 2,300 yuan ($323) per person on average.

In the livestreaming common prosperity workshop at Zhoushan China International Aquatic City, more than 30 leading e-commerce companies in the city have signed up for operations, establishing a fully integrated industry value chain.

Since the beginning of this year, more than 3,000 livestreaming sessions have been conducted, with total live streaming sales exceeding 114 million yuan.

The potato common prosperity workshop in Wuxing village, Liuheng town, has sold approximately 200 metric tons of potatoes online, generating over 3 million yuan in revenue.

As the diverse common prosperity workshops flourish across the islands and villages of Putuo district, more and more entrepreneurs are returning to their beloved hometown to start businesses.
