Zhoushan's GDP up 5.9 percent in first three quarters

According to data from the Zhoushan municipal statistics bureau on Oct 29, Zhoushan's GDP for the first three quarters of the year reached 157.21 billion yuan ($22.08 billion), a year-on-year increase of 5.9 percent at constant prices.

In the first three quarters, the output value of the fishery industry was 21.08 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.3 percent. The total volume of aquatic products increased by 4.7 percent year-on-year, with the volume of distant-water fishery output increasing by 7.1 percent.

The added value of machinery manufacturing increased by 21.6 percent, ship repair and building by 21.6 percent, auto parts manufacturing by 14.3 percent, and petrochemical industry by 9.1 percent.

In the first three quarters, the city's fixed asset investment grew by 6.2 percent year-on-year, an increase of 2.3 percentage points over the first half of the year.

Project investment increased by 15.5 percent, of which investment in industrial technological transformation and ship repair and building increased by 147.8 percent and 37.9 percent, respectively, and infrastructure investment increased by 33.0 percent.

The city's total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to 46.95 billion yuan in the first three quarters, an increase of 5.3 percent. The total value of the city’s imports and exports increased by 6.3 percent.

The per capita disposable income of all residents was 54,916 yuan in the same period, up 4.3 percent year-on-year.
