The Panama-flagged vessel Bulk Portugal completed the unloading of 11,600 metric tons of soybeans at a wharf in the Laotangshan port area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port on Oct 28, marking a significant milestone for the Zhoushan Port in the cargo throughput.
Following this achievement, Ningbo Zhoushan Port Zhoushan Port Co now has an annual cargo throughput of over 100 million tons for the sixth consecutive year.
"This year, we have facilitated unique logistics channels, such as river-sea direct routes, to expand the grain market, and utilized multimodal transport and geographical advantages to open Zhejiang's first direct routes to Guyana and Suriname, achieving new milestones in business expansion," said a representative from Zhoushan Port Co.
From January to September this year, Zhoushan Port handled 14.35 million tons of grain, a 10.16 percent increase year-on-year, and there has also been steady growth in its operations involving crude oil, coal, and other cargo types.
