Zhoushan's Ruxin ferry, traveling between Changzhi Island and Liuheng Island, has recently transformed into a floating library. Passengers can now borrow books during the hour-long journey, with the option to later return them at the Hangzhou Library.

Zhoushan, known for its scattered islands, has introduced this mobile library service to enhance public reading experiences during long ferry rides. Books and dialect audiobooks are available on routes lasting over 30 minutes. This innovative service extends Zhoushan's public cultural offerings from land to sea.

The floating library offers a curated collection of 620 popular books and self-service borrowing and returning stations, allowing passengers and even stationed troops to enjoy a richer cultural experience on the water.
