Dapu Port Container Terminal achieved a milestone in July, handling 221,000 twenty-foot equivalent units, a 16-percent year-on-year increase. The terminal's container pickup volume reached 117,000 TEUs – a new monthly record.
On Aug 10, six container ships were berthed at the terminal, with 14 gantry cranes operating at full capacity. "We have around 5,000 TEUs to unload today," said Le Lei, duty manager of a container shipping company. He highlighted that since July, the company has overcome challenges such as high temperatures and inadequate capacity to smoothly handle equipment arrivals, optimizing ship docking and operation plans to boost efficiency.
This year, the company has focused on enhancing port operations, optimizing route layouts, and leveraging smart technologies to improve both traditional and automated operations, thereby maximizing terminal productivity.
