Zhoushan's emergency response to Typhoon Gaemi was lifted on the morning of July 28.
Gaemi, the third typhoon of the year, has moved away from Zhoushan, with its impact on the city diminishing. On July 28, southeast to south winds of 7, with gusts of 8 to 9, persisted along Zhoushan's coast, while coastal sea conditions improved with waves reducing to 3 to 4 meters.
By 9 am, 31 of the 70 maritime passenger ferry routes in Zhoushan had resumed operations. However, 39 routes, including all high-speed ferries and routes from West Zhujiajian Ao to the southern and eastern islands of Shengsi, remained suspended.
The Zhoushan maritime department will continue to facilitate port clearance and resumption of operations, arranging for enforcement teams to enhance on-site inspections of passenger ferry services. Priority will be given to key areas such as passenger transport routes, transportation of essential goods, and mainline container vessels, ensuring the safe travel of citizens and the transport of essential supplies.
