Construction on the Comprehensive Oncology Treatment Center at Zhoushan Hospital in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province commenced on June 12.
The 567-million-yuan ($78.15 million) facility, which will feature a rooftop helipad, is expected to be completed by 2027.
The new center will house several specialized departments, including radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, a hemodialysis center, and an ultrasound medicine center.
Additionally, the facility will include new oncology-related wards, increasing the hospital's capacity by 500 beds.
The center will not only play a crucial role in meeting the healthcare needs of Zhoushan residents but also serve as a pivotal development that will significantly impact the long-term growth of the region's medical and health services, enhancing the overall capacity of medical care in the city, according to authorities.
