Dinghai district in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province has found a unique way to bolster its common prosperity drive by tapping into natural resources, with a greenway and a cultural corridor established.
The 25-kilometer greenway and the 100.5-kilometer cultural corridor, which opened to the public in May, 2023, have become popular tourist destinations and significantly boosted the district's tourism industry.
The picturesque greenway has attracted more than 2 million visitors with its stunning mountain and sea views, while the cultural corridor featuring ancient villages and historical sites provides a window to experience the city's maritime culture.
Local authorities have also channeled more resources into upgrading roads, creating cultural attractions and introducing new businesses to bolster rural tourism as part of efforts to increase residents' incomes.
A camping site has been established near the E'biling Ancient Path, which has become a sought-after destination for nature and history lovers.
In addition, the local government is continuing efforts to attract more businesses in order to provide a better experience to visitors.
