Tourist attractions in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, received 585,200 visitors during the week-long National Day holiday which ended on Oct 7, official statistics show.
Campsites, farms and islands were among the most popular destinations for visitors.
In Zhoushan's Dinghai district, the Nandong Art Valley where visitors could do go-karting was one of the most popular destinations.
The art gallery that exhibits fishermen paintings in the Nandong Art Valley was also a popular destination among tourists.
Scenic areas in Daishan county that features island landscape attracted large numbers of tourists during the holiday period.
The county's Dongsha ancient town, where the China Fishery Museum is situated, received 9,344 visitors during the holiday and generated a tourism revenue of 190,000 yuan ($26,414), a year-on-year increase of 217 percent, according to local media reports.
The via ferrata facility on Taohua Island in Putuo district was another hot spot for tourists. The facility, which consists of three routes spanning a combined 762.95 meters in length, is China's first via ferrata route built on cliffs within an island.
The holiday period also witnessed a boom in consumption.
Official data show that the sales of 14 monitored businesses, including shopping malls, supermarkets, car dealerships, hotels, and restaurants, in Zhoushan amounted to 57.56 million yuan during the seven-day period.
