Xia Guang 1, the first yacht-style high-speed passenger ship in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, was recently launched. 

Built by the Zhoushan Strait Ferry Group, a State-owned company of the Zhoushan Communications Investment Group, it costs 24.8 million yuan ($3.69 million) and has a capacity of 182 seats.

It stretches 49.45 meters long and 8.4 meters wide, and features a steel hull with LED lighting, which meets the needs of a night cruise.

The interior of the ship is still under decoration, and is expected to be completed by the end of March. 

According to a person in charge of the ship building at the company, the ship is designed for travelling between the city's Daishan county and Mount Putuo, and will be delivered and put into operation by the end of April.
