2025 has been an extraordinary year for Shaoxing. The city accelerated its efforts to become a demonstration city featuring the integrated development of industry, urban life, and culture, laying a solid foundation for the conclusion of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) and the smooth start of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30).

Shaoxing's manufacturing sector rose to second place in Zhejiang province in terms of high-quality development. The progress reflects how the city has evolved from improving production efficiency to upgrading entire industrial systems, and is now building a more integrated and sustainable industrial ecosystem. From traditional industrial upgrading to the rise of strategic emerging and future-oriented industries, Shaoxing has long been one of the places that best reflects China's economic transformation.

At Sleemon, a smart warehousing system illustrates this transformation. Integrating AI models, the internet of things, and 5G technology, the system reduced operational costs by 20 percent, improved inventory turnover by 20 percent, cut defective rates by 30 percent, and made the supply chain fully transparent.

Further innovation runs deeper across core research and production processes. At the Hangzhou Bay Embodied Intelligence Innovation Center in Shangyu district, advanced robotics systems collect large volumes of industrial data, helping build China's first industrial real-machine dataset capable of capturing motion with millimeter-level accuracy for AI training.

Investment intensity shows the city's commitment to smart manufacturing. From January to October, manufacturing investment rose 18.9 percent, surpassing the 16.1 percent growth in total fixed asset investment. During the same period, industrial output above designated size grew 9.9 percent year-on-year, ranking second in the province.

From efficiency upgrades to transformation and planning, Shaoxing is actively writing a new chapter in urban industrial evolution through smart manufacturing.
