Shaoxing company expands global reach
Dry-Tex, a Shaoxing-based company known for its advanced textile technology, has become a crucial supplier for global brands such as Lululemon and Decathlon.
The company's fabrics undergo rigorous testing, including being rubbed 10,000 times without losing smoothness, resisting water pressure twice that of the atmosphere while remaining dry, and enduring prolonged UV exposure without fading or deforming. These high-performance materials are used in high-quality outdoor jackets.
The company has strategically developed an integrated R&D and production process since its inception. Starting with weaving in 2006, it expanded into composite production in 2009, dyeing and finishing in 2019, and elastane in 2020. This vertical integration allows Dry-Tex to reduce its reliance on upstream and downstream contractors.
"The full-chain integration enhances our control over the production process," said Xie Guoyan, Dry-Tex's vice-general manager. This setup enables the company to design samples within three days, produce small orders in a week, and deliver bulk shipments in two weeks upon receiving client requests.
Dry-Tex continues to extend its industrial chain. A new fabric with anti-perspiration features is set to replace Japanese imports. To support this innovation, the company plans to build a high-end fiber production line with an annual capacity of 18,000 metric tons, moving further into the fiber spinning sector.
Dry-Tex is expanding into garment sales. The company has applied for five proprietary clothing brands, aiming to capture a share of the booming cross-border e-commerce market.
