Shaoxing delegation visits Europe
From May 10 to 19, Shaoxing Party Secretary Wen Nuan led an economic delegation to the Czech Republic, Austria, and Spain, conducting a series of business and cultural exchange activities.
During the visit to the Czech Republic on May 10, the delegation engaged with multiple enterprises to discuss cooperation in the aviation and cultural tourism sectors. Wen emphasized Shaoxing's role as a national-level comprehensive demonstration zone for the general aviation industry and expressed hopes for practical cooperation in project investment, technical exchanges, and standard formulation in areas such as drones, aircraft parts, power fuels, control chips, and flight services.
Austria, one of the first European countries to establish diplomatic relations with China, serves as a crucial gateway for Shaoxing enterprises expanding into Central and Eastern Europe. From May 13 to 14, Wen visited multinational corporations in Austria.
During discussions, Wen highlighted the importance of these corporations in fostering and benefiting from China-Europe economic and trade relations and encouraged them to expand their market presence and extend their international reach, contributing to the development of Shaoxing's open economy.
On May 17, Shaoxing held the "2024 China (Shaoxing)-Spain Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference" in Madrid. In his keynote speech, Wen noted the increasing economic ties between Spain and Shaoxing and the solid foundation for future collaboration, particularly in manufacturing. Wen extended a warm invitation to Spanish business representatives to visit Shaoxing for investment and cooperation.
During the conference, Shaoxing also promoted its investment and trade environment, emerging industries, and cultural tourism resources. The city signed a memorandum of understanding for friendly exchanges with Zaragoza, Spain, and secured agreements for five economic and trade cooperation projects.
