On May 11, at the launch ceremony of the 2024 International Museum Day event in Zhejiang province, Shangyu Museum in Shaoxing was honored as one of the "2024 Most Innovative Museums in Zhejiang" alongside three other museums.

Established in May 2000, Shangyu Museum houses nearly 20,000 artifacts or artifact sets. The new museum building, opened in June 2022, has significantly enhanced the integration of local culture and tourism.

An authority from Shangyu Museum said that they will continue to focus on innovation. Their goal is to tell stories through artifacts, convey culture through stories, and offer visitors a diverse and enriching experience. Thier approach aims to bring artifacts to life and improve the quality and reach of public cultural services.
