Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province received 17.045 million tourists in the first quarter of 2024, marking a 17.9 percent increase, ranking fourth in the province.

The number of overnight tourists reached 8.1982 million, up by 10.43 percent, ranking third in the province.

Last year, Shaoxing received 69.46 million tourists, achieving tourism revenue of 45.3 billion yuan ($6.28 billion), both reaching historic highs. However, the number of overnight tourists in Shaoxing last year was only 28.92 million, accounting for only 7.6 percent of the total in the province.

In 2024, the annual tourism goals for Shaoxing have been revealed: to achieve 78 million tourist arrivals, an increase of over 12 percent year-on-year, to host 32 million overnight tourists, an increase of over 10 percent year-on-year, and to achieve a total tourism revenue of 50 billion yuan, an increase of over 10 percent year-on-year.
