East China's Zhejiang province received 26.36 million visitors over the National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, which was 87.7 percent of the volume over the same period in the pre-COVID-19 pandemic year of 2019.

The recovery percentage was 17.6 percentage points higher than the national figure.

The province's tourism revenue over the recent holiday period was 28 billion yuan ($435 million), which means that an average tourist spent 1,064 yuan in Zhejiang during that time.

The province's tourist attractions at or above 4A level received 18.11 million tourists during the holiday, which was 126.43 percent of the figure for 2020 and 96.84 percent of the figure for 2019.

Holiday bookings for homestay hotels in the province's rural regions rose 150 percent from the previous year.

Rural regions in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang, received 3.89 million tourists, up 23 percent year-on-year.

Red tourism saw a significant year-on-year growth. For example, the ferry ticket revenue in Jiaxing's Nanhu Lake, where the first CPC National Congress was held, surged 52 percent from the previous year.

Hotel room booking volume in general reached 93.66 percent of the figure in 2019.

The average holiday booking rate for the 14 high-end resort hotels in Zhejiang run by Narada Hotel Group exceeded 90 percent, a record high.
