Athletes from Shaoxing, Zhejiang province are attempting to continue their outstanding performance at the 14th National Games, which kicked off in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, on Sept 15.

Held every four years, the National Games are the highest-level sporting event in the country, with elite athletes gathering from China's provinces, provincial-level municipalities, autonomous regions and special administrative regions.

This year, Shaoxing sent 115 athletes, including Asian 200m record holder Xie Zhenye, to vie in over 10 competitions.

As of Sept 16, Shaoxing athletes have already helped Zhejiang win two bronze and two silver medals.
