Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province has been making express delivery services accessible to remote villages since the province released guidelines on improving logistics network in rural areas in April.
According to the guidelines, all villages in Zhejiang province should have access to express delivery services by 2022 and villagers in remote areas should not have to travel far to retrieve their parcels.
The move will help stimulate the consumption potential in rural areas, said a staff member of the Zhejiang branch of China Post.
According to statistics released by the State Post Bureau, the number of delivery parcels handled in Zhejiang in 2020 reached 3.6 billion and generated an output of 290 billion yuan ($44.69 billion).
