Established in 1956, Shaoxing 7th People's Hospital is a national 3A-grade hospital integrating psychological specialty advantages and comprehensive medical services. The hospital also undertakes medical and teaching work, prevention, rehabilitation, scientific research and crisis intervention in mental and psychological diseases for patients in Shaoxing and surrounding areas.

Being the collaborative hospital of Shanghai Mental Health Center and the first affiliated hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Shaoxing 7th People's Hospital is also designated for forensic identification of mental illness in Zhejiang province.

Covering 50,000 square meters with a floor area of 55,000 sq m, the hospital has 700 beds, 16 inpatient wards, and over 20 clinical departments and medical laboratories. There are 523 staff members, 80 of whom have senior titles.
