A forum about the revolutionary spirit of southeast Zhejiang province was held on June 19 in the city of Lishui in East China's Zhejiang.
Lishui is seen as being the cradle of the "revolutionary spirit of southwest Zhejiang", as the first Party branch in southwest Zhejiang was established in the city's Suichang county in January 1927. There are now 533 sites in the city that highlight the CPC's history.
Experts and scholars from Beijing, Fujian province, Jiangxi province and other places carried out exchanges and discussions at the event and shared research results on the historical status of the revolution in southwest Zhejiang.
They also looked at the promotion of the revolutionary spirit, the revitalization and development of the old revolutionary base areas in southwest Zhejiang and at common prosperity.
Also known as a pilot city of the "Two Mountains" theory – which states that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets – the city has been focusing on the integrated development of its green and red resources.
The value of its red resources and ecological products is said to have contributed to the average annual GDP growth of 7 percent in Lishui over the past five years, while the income growth of its rural residents has ranked first in the province for 13 consecutive years.
