The Kunqu Opera club of Tang Xianzu Memorial Hall – located in Suichang county in Lishui city, in East China's Zhejiang province – on May 28 conducted an online exchange activity with the Taipei Kunqu Society in Taiwan on Kunqu Opera, one of the oldest forms of Chinese opera.

During the activity, Kunqu lovers from the two places sang excerpts from the much-admired opera The Peony Pavilion.

Suichang is where Tang Xianzu, known as the Shakespeare of the Orient, wrote his masterpiece The Peony Pavilion – one of China's Kunqu Opera classics – some 400 years ago during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

The Kunqu Opera club was established in 2014 and now has more than 40 members. Every week, the club organizes exchange activities.
