The first session of the Fifth Lishui Municipal People's Congress opened in the city of Lishui in East China's Zhejiang province on April 10, with the proceedings detailing the city's goals and main tasks for the next five years.

By 2026, Lishui's GDP is expected to reach 250 billion yuan ($39.25 billion), with per capita GDP rising to 100,000 yuan and the added value of industrial enterprises above a designated scale – those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan or more – set to exceed 73 billion yuan.

The city is pushing for the total output value of its five leading industries to top 250 billion yuan in the following five years, with the number of high-tech enterprises projected to exceed 1,000.

Moreover, the city will further boost its transport network by speeding up the construction of a faster and more convenient traffic hub connecting Lishui with other cities.

In addition, Lishui is aiming to develop itself as an international photography city in five years. Cultural industries such as sword, celadon ceramics, stone carving and wooden toys will also be enhanced.
