Zhejiang allows residents to buy antigen kits using medical insurance
Zhejiang has adjusted its medical insurance regulations in light of the latest COVID-19 outbreak, allowing its residents to temporarily pay for antigen self-test kits using their medical insurance, the Zhejiang Provincial Medical Security Bureau announced on March 24.
Starting from March 25, residents in Zhejiang will pay no more than 15 yuan for a test kit at public medical institutions. People who visit public medical institutions only to do antigen testing will not be charged outpatient consultation fees or general diagnosis and treatment fees.
The cost of purchasing antigen kits in designated retail pharmacies is also covered by medical insurance.
Medicines not included in the medical insurance catalog of the National Health Commission's COVID-19 diagnosis and treatment plan are temporarily covered as well.
