Zhejiang to nurture pillar industries in 26 counties
The Zhejiang Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology recently issued a document regarding a series of measures to support the high-quality development of characteristic industries in the province's 26 mountainous counties.
Authorities have set a goal of raising the value-added of above-designated-sized industrial companies in the 26 counties to over 217 billion yuan ($34.39 billion) by 2025.
Many mountainous counties in Zhejiang have formed characteristic industries significant to local economy – such as beverages in Chun'an, pump valves in Yongjia, hardware in Wuyi, specialty paper in Longyou, doors in Jiangshan, medicine in Xianju, rubber in Sanmen, automotive air conditioning in Longquan, wooden toys in Yunhe, machinery equipment in Jinyun, and metal products in Suichang.
"We will work to develop certain well-established industries into over-10-billion-yuan mainstay sectors for the local economy," said an official from the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology.
