Zhejiang releases development goals for 2022

The Zhejiang provincial government on Jan 17 delivered a report containing socioeconomic development goals that the province aims to achieve in 2022 at the annual session of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress.

The province's GDP growth rate is expected to hit 6 percent in 2022. The growth rates for actual use of investment and retail sales of consumer goods are targeted to reach 6 percent as well.

According to the report, the provincial government will increase its funding for scientific innovations by 40 percent.

The total industrial value-added for the province's above-designated-sized companies (those with annual operating revenues of about $3.1 million or more) is expected to rise by 6 percent as well.

Zhejiang authorities will ensure that 70 Zhejiang-based companies will complete their initial public offerings in 2022.

The industrial value-added for companies related to digital economy is expected to increase by 12 percent.

Zhejiang authorities will also ensure that the PM2.5 (particulate matter with a diameter of less than 2.5 micrometers) densities in the 11 Zhejiang cities at or above prefecture-level will be lower than 26 micrograms per cubic meter on average throughout the year.
