Winter fishing kicks off on Yunhe Lake

The short winter fishing season officially kicked off on Yunhe Lake – located in Yunhe county, administered by Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province – on Dec 9.
"The water quality makes the fish here taste good," said Huang Jiefu, a merchant from East China's Jiangxi province. He came especially from Jiangxi to purchase fresh fish from Yunhe Lake.
Fishery is the pillar industry of the 33 villages around the lake. In addition to the fixed income of each village collective, the 3,056 villagers can receive dividends and villagers who participate in the fishing can also receive wages.
According to local fishermen, more than a month ago they laid a huge net in Yunhe Lake for the harvest on Dec 9. The total output of the first net this winter was nearly 200 tons.
