The 2021 Lishui Photography Festival is scheduled to open on Nov 5, in the prefecture-level city of Lishui in East China's Zhejiang province.

Along with the opening of the festival, a digital 3D exhibition hall will be launched at the same time, providing an immersive online art appreciation platform for photography lovers from around the world.

The 3D digital exhibition hall will host exhibitions from the Photography Museum of Lishui and the Art Museum of Lishui during the festival.

According to officials, the core of the digital exhibition is photography itself. The online exhibition hall is expected to last three years or longer, they said.

Lishui also plans to launch an international digital image center during the festival. The center will have a photography management platform, a government image resource-sharing platform, an area for VCG – a Chinese photo and media agency – and an industry library to promote the digitization and commercialization of image resources.

Focusing on the development frontiers of the digital image industry, Lishui hopes to become a magnet for photographic laboratories and research and development centers.
