Yiwu foreign affairs representatives visit Consulate General of Belgium in Shanghai

Zhang Weiwei, deputy director of the foreign affairs office of Yiwu, led a delegation to visit the Consulate General of Belgium in Shanghai on May 11. Belgian Consul General Bruno Jans, along with other officials, extended a warm welcome to the delegation.
During the visit, Zhang Weiwei gave a briefing on the recent developments in economic and trade exchanges between Yiwu and Belgium, as well as the major foreign affairs activities planned for Yiwu this year.
As a member of the World Council and Executive Bureau of the United Cities and Local Governments Asia Pacific (UCLG-ASPAC), Yiwu will host the 9th UCLG-ASPAC Membership Conference and the 4th Zhejiang International Friendship Cities Exchange Exhibition from Nov 13 to 15.
The consul general was invited to bring a delegation to introduce Belgium's cultural, commercial, educational, and logistical advantages to cities in the Asia-Pacific region.
Additionally, Yiwu will send a delegation to the World Metropolitan Association Congress and the Brussels City Summit to be held in Brussels, Belgium from June 12 to 15 at the invitation of the World Metropolitan Association.
Bruno Jans said that Yiwu was the first city he visited after assuming his post as consul general. The consulate general said that it welcomes Yiwu's delegation to visit Belgium, will serve as a bridge for friendly exchanges and pragmatic cooperation between Yiwu and Belgium, and looks forward to visiting Yiwu again to participate in international conferences and exhibitions.
