The "Artistic Rural Construction" series of activities commenced in Yiwu on March 28.

Hosted by the municipal government and the Yiwu Federation of Literary and Art, the event saw the release of the "Yiwu New Silk Road Literary and Artistic Map."

The map was designed by Yiwu's comic artists and traditional Chinese painters. The maps are detailed and diverse and highlight Yiwu's cultural creativity.

Alex, an expat from Finland who has been learning Wuju Opera in Yiwu, commented that Yiwu is not only a hub for small commodities, but also a vibrant cultural venue with fascinating literary and artistic works.

In 1982, the city became the first county-level city in the country to establish a municipal federation for literary and art works. Yiwu currently has 12 literary and artistic associations.
