Yiwu Customs issued a total of 675 certificates of origin valued at $14.98 million under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) in the first two months, up 177.78 percent and 70.35 percent year-on-year, respectively, reducing tariffs by about 1.03 million yuan ($149,932.4) for enterprises.

"The company has applied for 53 RCEP certificates of origin for exports to Japan this year. The products are mainly small commodities with a value of nearly $2.92 million," said Li Wentao, head of Yiwu Yunfeng Import and Export Co Ltd.

The RCEP has helped the company explore international markets since it took effect more than a year ago, Li added.

The RCEP is the world's largest trade agreement in terms of its scale and the population it encompasses. Since it came into effect on Jan 1 last year, market potential has been continuously stimulated.

The RCEP simplifies customs clearance procedures for goods, and the customs clearance speed of Zhejiang Mengna Hosiery Co Ltd's products has been reduced by nearly half. Foreign customers can receive their orders faster, which increases mutual trust and helps the company obtain more overseas orders, said Li Huike, head of the company.
