Yiwu's first on-site trade fair signals recovery momentum

The 17th National Wedding Supplies, Celebration Supplies, Artificial Flowers and Decoration Props (Yiwu) Trade Fair, also known as the Artificial Flowers Fair, attracted over 25,000 professional buyers from both home and abroad, an increase of 131.8 percent year-on-year, according to organizers.

Deals worth 520 million yuan ($74.63 million) were made at the on-site fair, a surge of 62.5 percent from the previous year, a strong sign of the city's economic recovery.

This year's trade fair was expanded from three to four exhibition halls with a total of 1,649 international standard booths, attracting 586 companies. Many well-known brands and original manufacturers in the fields of simulation plants, flowers, and wedding props from all over the country came.

Various industrial associations in Yiwu have also launched plans to hold trade fairs following the Artificial Flowers Fair amid the rapid revival of the commercial and trade sectors, according to officials.
