Residents of Yiwu in East China's Zhejiang province and Yangpu district in Shanghai can now access a number of administrative service items at each other's administrative centers, as authorities have integrated such services, according to local media reports.
The first batch of 82 administrative items, including identity certificates, social security, medical insurance, tax affairs and environment-related business, can be handled under the agreement.
Officials have said that Yiwu and Shanghai have become increasingly close in terms of personnel, trade and cultural exchanges. The agreement can help improve the business and living environments of both sides and promote the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region,
Yiwu has in recent years been promoting the inter-provincial handling of frequently processed administrative services. To date, the city has reached agreements with 24 cities inside and outside Zhejiang, including Zhenxiong county in Southwest China's Yunnan province, Bijie in Southwest China's Guizhou province and Huaihua in Central China's Hunan province, to facilitate the handling of high-demand government services.
